The worst thing possible had happened. Her secret identity was blown. Not by a villain, not by a newspaper expose, but by her own sister. Alessandra had slipped up during a family dinner three days ago. Something about "Cindy's stretchy hero work" while passing the pasta. The table had gone silent. Their mother dropped her fork. Their father choked on his wine. The niece and nephew stared with wide eyes. The discussion that followed lasted four hours. "So when you said you had food poisoning last Thanksgiving..." "Fighting a alien monster in the sewers." "And the broken toilet excuse?" "Emergency call... bank robbery." "What about Christmas two years ago when you..." "Another alien invasion. Very hush hush." A thousand questions... maybe even more. Every family gathering she had missed, every strange excuse, every suspicious absence now made terrible sense to everyone. The kids bounced with excitement. And somehow, impossibly, the family had decided this was the perfect week for a camping trip. All of them. Together. In the wilderness. Where Elasticia could answer even more questions without the distraction of city life. "This is fine," she muttered to herself, climbing into Alessandra's minivan. "Everything is totally fine." Her niece Sofia and nephew Marco immediately flanked her in the back seat. Their eyes sparkled with barely contained curiosity. The questions began before Alessandra even started the engine. "Auntie Cindy, can you stretch your arm to the moon?" "No, sweetie. Maybe a few hundred feet." "Can you turn into a snake? A real snake?" "Sort of. More like a snake shaped tube." "Do you eat food or do you just absorb it through your skin?" "I eat normally. It just... comes out the same way it went in." "Ewwwww!" both children squealed with delight. The highway stretched endlessly ahead. Questions kept coming. Elasticia answered on autopilot, her pink eyes growing unfocused as exhaustion crept in. She had been fielding inquiries for seventy-two hours straight. Her parents had called six times. Her cousins had found her number somehow. Even her grandmother in Italy wanted to video chat. "Auntie, can you turn into a car? Like a whole car?" "Probably... never tried." "Can you turn into a house?" "Too big. Not enough mass." "Can you turn into a..." "Kids," Alessandra interrupted, glancing in the rearview mirror. "Give your aunt a break. She looks exhausted." Elasticia met her sister's eyes in the reflection. The guilt was obvious on Alessandra's face. She had apologized maybe fifty times since the slip up. Each apology made Elasticia feel worse somehow. "I'm really sorry, Cindy," Alessandra said quietly. "I know I keep saying it, but..." "It's fine." Elasticia sighed, her pink shoulders slumping. "Honestly? It was going to come out eventually. At least this way I don't have to keep making up excuses about plumbing problems." A strange sound interrupted the moment. Metal grinding against asphalt. The van lurched sideways. "Shit!" Alessandra gripped the wheel, guiding them to the shoulder. "The tire. I think we hit something." They pulled over on a stretch of empty highway. Forest pressed close on both sides. Their destination was still two hours away, and the nearest town was probably forty minutes behind them. Alessandra got out to inspect the damage. "Flat. Completely shredded." "Do we have a spare?" Elasticia asked, already knowing the answer from her sister's expression. "It's... at the shop. Getting repaired. I forgot to pick it up." The children whined about being stuck. Alessandra rubbed her temples in frustration. Elasticia looked at the destroyed tire, then down at her own pink body. "Already on it," she announced. Sofia and Marco pressed their faces against the window as their aunt stepped toward the damaged wheel. Elasticia knelt beside the van, touching the torn rubber with her fingertips. Then her hand began to melt. The transformation started at her fingers. Pink substance flowed outward, wrapping around the wheel rim. Her arm followed, dissolving into flowing goo that spread across the metal surface. The sensation of losing solid form always felt strange, that initial tingle of molecules separating followed by the warm pleasure of becoming something new. "Mmmmm~," she bit back the sound as her shoulder melted into the growing mass. Her torso went next. Breasts flattened and absorbed into the spreading pink material. Her waist thinned and wrapped around the rim. She could feel the cold metal pressing into her as she became the tire, her substance conforming to every groove and edge. Her legs merged last, flowing upward to complete the transformation. Within thirty seconds, a perfectly formed pink tire sat where the damaged one had been. Her face remained visible on the outer surface, features slightly squished by the circular shape. "THAT WAS SO COOL!" Marco screamed from inside the van. Alessandra stared at her sister turned tire with a mix of awe and discomfort. "Are you... okay in ther
